Dublin South City Partnership (DSCP) works across a large area of south Dublin, including many areas and pockets of extreme social disadvantage, including though not limited to Bluebell, Dolphin’s Barn, Inchicore, Drimnagh, Goldenbridge, Crumlin, Rialto.
The LifeLong Learning team’s remit is to provide and promote opportunities for learning for people in our local communities. We are funded by the Social Inclusion and Community Activation programme (SICAP) and are focused on removing barriers that can prevent access to learning. Barriers often include systemic external factors such as poverty; specific circumstances such as language ability; and also internalised factors such as low confidence or past negative experiences of education.
To be inclusive, we want to ensure that people from all backgrounds, cultures and nationalities are welcomed into our communities. We want to increase the opportunities available for people to avail of education and other support services. We want to ease the often confusing process of trying to make sense of what is available. We want to encourage dialogue to explore diversity and cultural integration. We want to learn from and value the experiences of newcomers to our country.
