In 2021 the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth published a White Paper to End Direct Provision system, and to develop a New International Protection Support Service. The White Paper sets out an important policy change and indicates the government’s commitment to end Direct Provision by 2024. You can read it here.
